In 2022, Athens Pride and Queer Collective was created, a merge between Athens Pride and Athens Queer Collective. The two non-profits previously existed independently, with AP focusing more on event curation and QC focusing on support and education. APQC now exists to bridge that gap and to serve our diverse Queer communities in a more united way, operating from an intersectional lens which not only recognizes historic harms, but works with marginalized identities to pave a new pathway forward that is inclusive, diverse, and celebratory of all LGBTQIA2S+ people.
When it came to our logo, we knew we wanted something vibrant and beautiful, as we’ve been experiencing a new wave of Queer Joy here in the Classic City. We also knew we wanted the logo to convey a message of intersectionality. Our communities are not one. We are many— and here at APQC we celebrate that!
